LiTone XL Light-sheet Microscope

A versatile tool for imaging large cleared tissue with extraordinary resolution​

The LiTone XL light-sheet microscope is designed to image large samples in 3D with resolution and speed. This powerful platform utilizes the Line Bessel Sheet (LBS) technology and features a unique 4-side illumination configuration providing the most uniform sample illumination in the market. The LiTone XL microscope is equipped with refractive index (RI) correction optics adjustable from 1.33 to 1.57 to ensure the best imaging quality in various immersion medium. The exchangeable sample chamber can host samples with size over 2cm.​

The Line Bessel Sheet (LBS) technology​

The sophisticated LBS design is crafted to be much thinner and longer than traditional Gaussian light sheets, making the LiTone LBS not only powerful in its low rate of photo toxicity and high imaging speed, but also providing superior 3D resolution and signal to noise ratio owing to its much-improved sectioning ability. The longer LBS also means data size is significantly reduced compared to methods that require a scanning light sheet.

Increased Depth of Penetration and Even Illumination Via 4-beam Scanning

LiTone XL generates 4 LBS light sheets with equal power that can selectively enter the sample from all four orthogonal sides to maximize FOV and reduce shadowing effects.  Even hard to image samples like dense heart material (above) can be imaged with greater uniformity, improving accuracy of quantitative results.  ​The system accepts a range of detection objectives including glycol/water immersion objectives or air objectives from 4x to 25x.​ The system features an adjustable optical system that corrects immersion RI from 1.33 to 1.57 when air objectives are used.

Various selections of sample bath and sample holders

A range of reusable sample holders and immersion baths are available to provide optimal handling for a wide variety of samples, and refractive index media. Supports 4x, 10x and 25x objectives​ (others supported upon request).

Effortless Sample Loading

Unlike many traditional light sheet systems, the inverted configuration allows for easy loading of samples using the wide range of sample holders to securely mount samples for imaging.

On-the-fly data processing

Handling large imaging data is always dreadful, especially for large cleared samples where TBs of raw data need to be processed, transferred and stored.

​Our latest LitScan control and analysis software offers built-in 5D data rendering package that allows on-the-fly 3D viewing and sophisticated movie rendering by a few clicks right after the data is taken into the memory. ​

LitScan data is compatible OMERO data standards for easy importation to your favorite 3rd party analysis packages

Smart tiling and multi-position acquisition

LiTone XL offers advanced tiling and multi-position functions to boost the efficiency in operation.

Smart tiling enables imaging of a large FOV without compromising the resolution. Users are guided through a simple and smart parameter setting process and the data is stitched and fused using our patented algorithm with efficiency and accuracy.

Multi-position functionality images multiple sample sites in one scan sequence thus significantly increasing the efficiency, particularly in organoid and embryo imaging experiments.
